A Conversation With Henry

Henry: Mom, I think I should be a ninja when I grow up.

 Me: Oh, really?

H: Yeah. I just have to defeat all the bad guys.

M: Sounds like you have to be really brave to be a ninja.

H: Yeah, I am! Except zombies. I'm not brave of them. But I will be when I'm a grown-up.

Random September

We went out to eat one night, and Harper dropped a little ice cream on the table.  She immediately began wiping it up, and she was so intense about it, it was cracking us up.

Sometimes they get along...

Lego build!

Three kids in, and it still freaks me out just a bit when Adam gives them a toss in the air.

Harper's hiding place when she doesn't want to get dressed:

This girl knows how to make use of her legs, whether she's laying down...

or sitting up!

Look at those girls watching a show...stinking cute.  (I swear Harper does more than sit in front of a screen.)

Claire and I went on a mommy-daughter date to get our nails done.

She was a little hesitant at first whether or not she wanted to do this, but at soon as the massage started, Claire turned to me and said, "Thanks for taking me to get a pedicure Mom!"

"I see you Mom!"

Henry's preschool had a little field trip to the school garden where they could pick their own vegetables.

My twinners.

How much longer do I get before Claire doesn't want to hold my hand any more?

All the Good Things

Mid-September we played hooky from school and work to head to Utah for Andrew's wedding!  We pretty much lived the good life for a week - seeing cousins, taking in all the temples we could (I think we saw about 12 over the course of the week), a wedding...all the good things in life!

The kids were excited to stay in a "hotel" - what's amazing about their smiling faces is that we didn't find a place to stay until about 3 am!

By the following morning, they weren't quite so neatly ordered.

We took the kids to Temple Square - we hadn't been there since Claire was a babe.  We had a great time.  I'm so glad I get these guys for eternity!

We met up with Adam's parents and Trent and his family.

Henry and Nels became fast pals.

And Claire absolutely loved little Cal.

We played at Thanksgiving Point's Museum of Curiosity.  It had this great rope bridge that the kids couldn't stay away from.

We walked around the BYU campus.  Claire told Adam, "I'll go to school here if you let me see the library."  He made it happen, of course.

And the main event:  Andrew and Alex's wedding.  It was beautiful.

Claire is excited about her new cousin, Addie.

We clean up alright, I think!

This was the photographer's shots of our table.  Really, really pretty.

Devin giving a hilarious toast.

It was a no-kids wedding, so Erin was kind enough to come up to watch them for us while we were out partying.  Beth's kids stayed with their dad for the weekend, so we had a short time for the cousins to play before we went our separate ways.

We drove up to Idaho Falls via Logan to enjoy the scenery.

We hung out at the museum for a while, and Harper got her pioneer on.

And story time in the tent with the Belnap cousins.

Like I said - all the good things!

Harper Turns 3!

We sure love this little girl, and we were excited to wish her a happy birthday.  But, of course, this little sassafrass decided to have so...
