First Day

I can't believe that Harper's old enough to be in Nursery already!  Maybe it's because she's not walking independently yet, so she still seems like my baby.  Maybe it's because it feels like Henry just left Nursery - though that was almost a year ago! At any rate, she's ready to have some additional stimulation, and that slide sure didn't hurt either!

Adam and I took turns sitting with her for her first day, just to be sure that she didn't get emotional or scared.  She is so cute here, not quite sure what to do during singing time!

She had a good time, and we think she'll have no problems from now on!

Random October

Henry is obsessed with Star Wars.  Target is full of Star Wars products; their shelves are lined with everything from Star Wars themed plates to band-aids to sweatshirts to vitamin bottles.  Sometimes that means that shopping takes a little longer.

"I want all the Star Wars things."

Sometimes when Henry laughs, he covers his mouth with both hands, and I think it's the cutest thing.

Harper's way to relax.  She is awesome.

Harper likes to play with glasses, and she wants everyone to get a turn!

Harper climbing into my lap: Best. Thing. Ever.

Look at these cute sisters!

This is 37!  Glenda made me a delicious cake for my birthday while we were in Idaho Falls.

Harper loved it!

Harper was having a great time on the swings...

until she found out that Henry was the one pushing her.

The Force is strong with this one.

One of the best things about having another girl is pulling out Claire's old baby clothes.  It's fun to see them again!

Henry had to learn the hard way that eating too much candy isn't good for you.  He took his candy bag from the trunk or treat up to his room and proceeded to eat every single piece.  Poor little bugger woke up the next morning feeling unwell.  He then threw up, developed a fever, and slept for most of the day.  The good thing that came of this is that when you ask him for candy now, he answers "no, that will make me sick."  We'll see how long it lasts!

Halloween Season

We had a busy costume season.  By the time the 31st finally rolled around, I (at least) felt Halloween'd out, as it was the third time getting the costumes on.  We began the festivities the week before Halloween with the Fall Festival at Claire's school.  Here she is with her BFF (Claire's designation, of course), Omreta.  These girls were inseparable all evening.  It was fun watching them.  It made me feel like I was getting a small glimpse of how Claire interacts with her friends at school, far from my curious eyes.

With a few other school friends.

We wanted to do another family costume this year because last year was so fun.  We had every intention of doing a Star Wars theme (it seemed natural, since Henry is currently obsessed with Star Wars and already had his Darth Vader costume).  Claire, on the other hand was not so enthusiastic.  There was crying involved.  She insisted that A. She would be embarrassed to be in a Star Wars costume (she likes Princess Leia, but hates Star Wars), B. She would feel left out if everyone else went as Star Wars, and C. She wanted to be a cat.  Since Claire wasn't in, Adam and I decided not to dress up, and Claire was a cat, just as she was 2 years ago. We did dress Harper up as Princess Leia though, and she was adorable.  I bought a $5 headband intended for a small dog, cut a hole in an unused white sheet that was trimmed down to size, and wrapped a belt around Harper's waist.  Super simple.  Super cute.

We had fun carving pumpkins again this year.  The Clay Matthews/Packer pumpkin was rad.

Our ward had a trunk-or-treat on the 30th, so the 31st felt really anticlimactic.  It was pouring rain, so I stayed home with Harper to hand out the treats while Adam took out Henry and Claire.  The kids didn't mind the soggy weather, and that's all that really counts.

Another fun Halloween in the books!

Harper Turns 3!

We sure love this little girl, and we were excited to wish her a happy birthday.  But, of course, this little sassafrass decided to have so...
