A Saturday Out

What to do on a Saturday with nothing planned?  Take a hike!

But first, we needed to get some lunch.  Adam found a new-to-us pod of food carts with one in particular that has poutine, so we gave it a go!

The poutine was pretty close to what we had in Montreal.

Meanwhile, we got some Egyptian food to round out our meal, and got crepes for the kids.  Everyone seemed pretty happy.

Then it was off to Mt. Hood to walk off all those calories and hike around Trillium Lake.  It was gorgeous.

The wildflowers were amazing.

This Year at the Fort

Henry made a gun out of his graham cracker, because that's how he rolls these days.

For the first time, Henry asked to hold Harper to take a picture with her.

I tried to get everyone to look at me, but it didn't work.

It wasn't the biggest crowd ever (probably because it looked like it was going to rain all day), but it was still a respectable turnout.

The Sherman's won!  Another great year!

Soccer

For a while now, Claire has reeeeaally wanted to play soccer.  Claire finally got her wish, not in a league, but in a 3-week long class that went over fundamentals.  Since neither of her parents have ever played organized soccer, I thought a basics class might be helpful to all involved.

She was so cute and excited for her first class!

When the class was over after 3 weeks,  I asked Claire if she wanted me to sign her up for a league, as the registration window was coming to a close.  Claire said she really didn't want to.  She even exclaimed "I don't want to play sports!!".  So I guess we're taking a break from that for a while!

Other than the soccer itself, the only other casualty that occurred was with Henry:  he was running on the bleachers, tripped, ad whacked his head on the corner of one of the bleacher benches.

Henry got his first real shiner!  He liked to show it off.
