Buddhalicious III

Do you remember this look?  How 'bout this one?  Well, Harper's getting in on the potbelly action now too.

More Harper

I'm sorry.  I can't help myself.  Really.  It's a problem, I know, but she is just so so cute.

What's a girl to do when she receives her very own twirly skirt, made so beautifully by her auntie Julia, in the mail?

Why she spins, of course.

Random Henry

Adam recently came back from a work trip to Peru and brought Henry this little ball.  Henry was thrilled.  When he found Adam's baseball mitt, he threw the ball into it.  He was so proud of himself!  Our future baseball player!

Claire had a small injury that required an ice pack.  When she was done with it she left it on the couch where Henry found it.  He immediately began running his fingers across the surface, saying "big giant pothicle", over and over.  He was pretty disappointed when I told him that he couldn't eat it.

This has become one of Henry's favorite spots in the back yard.  If he's not going down the slide or hanging out on the swings, chances are Henry can be found sitting in this empty garden box.

Henry-isms II

It's been nearly a year since I've written down all the cute things Henry says, but he is growing up so fast...I couldn't leave it much longer or else these things will just slip away.  So here are Henry's current "isms."

mishellows:  marshmellows
ba-nana:  stress on the first syllable
Liling queen:  One of his favorite things is Lightning McQueen.
flop flops:  I love what he calls flip-flops!
Yeth!:  Henry has a slight lisp.  But his exultant "yes" is one of the cutest things ever.
I don' like it:  We hear this one a lot.
play me:  play with me!
look-a-me:  look at me!  Stress on the "me".
baby-fier/glassifier:  pacifier.  The arrival of baby Harper brought this one on.
love it baby Harper:  just his way of saying that he loves Harper.
um see:  when I ask Henry what he wants (i.e. for breakfast), he puts his finger on his cheek and he says this.
is durk:  it's dark
special me:  when he identifies that something is special to him.
pinkie butter:  peanut butter
c'mon Mom:  Okay, there's nothing unusual about this.  It's just one of my favorite things.  He says it regularly when we're going somewhere together, whether it is just to get his cup of milk, walking upstairs, or walking to the park.  He's gotta make sure I'm right behind him, and I think it's so sweet.

This is something Adam told me about.  One night, Adam took Claire and Henry to go pick up a pizza for dinner.  As they were getting ready to pull out of the garage, Henry yelled "Wait a minute!  Forgot Mom!"  Glad to know he missed me!

Pure Joy

Henry's first splash pad experience at Magnolia Park was one of unrestrained joy.  He did all the running, splashing, and attempted drinking that a 2 1/2 year old boy could handle.

Claire was there too.  She's a seasoned splash-pad pro, but she had a good time too!

Meanwhile II

I was upstairs checking my e-mail.  Meanwhile, Henry was in my bathroom, breaking my blush all over the floor and proceeding to rub it all over himself and the room around him.

First of the Season

As soon as it hit over 80°, we pulled out the sprinkler.

This was Henry's first time.  He loved it!

The dude had no fear.  He approached it head first!

Harper Turns 3!

We sure love this little girl, and we were excited to wish her a happy birthday.  But, of course, this little sassafrass decided to have so...
