Gone Pickin'

One of the best things about living in Oregon in the summer time is the berries. Big, juicy, vine (or bush or shrub or plant)-ripened berries.



The great thing about blueberry picking is that you can just grab a bunch at a time and pull. The berries just pop right off in your hand. No crouching. No painful thorns. It was so easy that the kids jumped right in.



But their buckets were mysteriously empty at the end of our picking excursion...





Aren't they beautiful? Leave it to nature to have the most amazing color combinations.

How wonderful....I love blue berries and froze a bunch this summer. They are great frozen!

Jealous. I love them. Remember that pear raspberry pie I make? Well, a week ago I used the same recipe but substituted blueberries for the raspberries. I like it even better. You should try it - that's what I think.
