Adam, Claire and I had a great time in Utah last week. We went out for the wedding of Adam's friend, Josh. It was a beautiful wedding, not only to see Josh and Kim so happy, but it was wonderful to be able to re-visit the feelings felt and the words spoken in the temple, which I haven't heard since our own wedding three years ago. Another highlight was the opportunity to reconnect with friends that we haven't seen in a long time. I actually love seeing Adam with his friends. Yes, he sometimes says/does things that he wouldn't with just me (which was certainly something I had to get used to when I first met said friends), but I now enjoy seeing him have fun with his friends. The fact that they are all married/engaged to wonderful women doesn't hurt, either.
The whole weekend was centered around visiting with old friends, and it was refreshing to visit with some of the people we care about the most (both Adams' friends and mine). While it is wonderful to see these people as they grow and change and move on to bigger and better things in their lives, I must admit that I feel a little nostalgic for the times when there wasn't distance and other obligations between us.
We were fortunate to have Erin join us in Salt Lake for the weekend. She watched Claire so that Adam and I could enjoy the wedding festivities. Erin and Claire quickly became "buddies". After the wedding, we headed down to Cedar City to spend time with my sisters, but not before spending some time on Temple Square.
I am still amazed that Adam and I were married in such a beautiful place.
Claire had a great time in Cedar City. First, she got re-acquainted with her Auntie Beth.
She then mastered the skill of climbing stairs.
She chased around one of the most patient cats in the world, and loved every minute of it.
Claire got lots of love from Mikey and Rori, and they shared some quality bath time together.
Rori, being 6 months older and wiser, taught Claire everything she knows. She told her about mom's shoes,
how to take care of a baby,
and how to be a friend.
Claire was also able to strengthen her love affair with ketchup at the In-n-Out. She was one happy girl.
