We went on a mission to find an A/C unit we could purchase. I even waited in line for over an hour at one store, only to have them run out of their new shipment 3 people ahead of me. Everywhere was sold out. So unlucky for us, we've had to endure some pretty uncomfortable living conditions. It was too hot to cook or clean, so when we weren't sleeping, we were usually int he car. Claire was tough, but had a hard time at night. It never cooled down enough outside to let the inside get comfortable. Claire didn't sleep, which meant that I didn't sleep. Her sleeping schedule still hasn't fully recovered. To add insult to injury, I got a wicked, wicked cold, so that compounded with the inferno-like temps and no sleep made for one cranky momma.
When we were home, Claire hung out in only a diaper--a dress code that I actually think she liked.
We started going to the pool. With the exception of one evening when we went as a family (in an attempt to cool down enough so we could even THINK about trying to sleep), both Adam and I have taken Claire for a dip by ourselves, so there are no pictures of her in the water. But she sure loves the pool. And she is so roly-poly that she's surprisingly buoyant! In this shot, Adam forgot to bring her a towel, so she got to use his t-shirt instead:
Thankfully, the heat is breaking. Highs in the low 90's never sounded so good. It is nice being able to sleep comfortably again, and wake up to a cool apartment. Maybe we'll attempt to find an A/C unit again in the next few days when the immediate demand isn't so high. In the meantime, we'll be eating and hanging out at home again with our little cherub.
