4th of July

We had a nice, relaxing 4th hanging out at home.

The kids enjoyed the pool (well, Claire, thought it was too cold, but it was fun putting her in a swimsuit for the first time, anyway!)

Look at that chunky monkey!

The popsicles were also a hit!

We just had a fun afternoon hanging out

The guys even helped get dinner ready while Adam watched

Mom loved playing with the grandkids!

A preview of the night's events

We had a great fire and smores

Because we had seen a fireworks show the night before in Door County, we decided to avoid the crowds and too-long fireworks display downtown and watch the guys' pyrotechnics instead.

Some of the highlites? When some people across the street almost started their back yard on fire when one of their fireworks tipped over (honestly, who lights fireworks in the yard? You do it on the street!) and when the guys shot Roman candles at each other. I don't think I've seen my dad laugh that hard in a long time! It was a great way to cap off the evening (I just wish I had gotten it on film!)
