Family Additions and Snowy Days

Almost 2 years ago, Claudia and I got married. The exact day was January 4, 2007. I really wanted to be married in winter even though Claudia didn't. I love the winter and I love snow. Salt Lake showed its snowy potenial. When Claudia and I left the temple the snow was blowing. I knew her hopes of a beautiful picture were dashed, but secretly I couldn't have been happier. I can think of nothing more beautiful than snow.

Looking out the recovery room today, I was so excited (though I'm sure my leading ladies weren't quite so enthused) to see snow blowing in the wind, just like it did when I last added to my family. Snow in Portland. And it actually stayed!!! I love snow. It's so beautiful. It makes everything look clean and new. Like you are living inside a snow globe on the night stand at Grandma's house. It's the kind of weather where you want to get all cozy with your family and enjoy each other. I'm so glad that Claire brought with her the thing I've missed the most, since moving to this rain puddle.

Alright, I know what you really want. Pictures of little Claire Elizabeth Belnap. She weighed in at a stout 9lbs 9ozs, with a 14.5in head, a long 21.5 inches, and a thick full head of dark hair. When Claudia became pregnant I announced to my elders quorum that in about 9 months they would behold the pinnacle of human evolution, a veritable genetic masterpiece. Well I should say I delivered on my word:

This video isn't very good, but it's supposed let you hear her little squeaker. Claire's little nickname right now is Squeaker because of her very unique crying:

Hope you all love as much as we do!

Adam, Claudia, and Claire,

I am so happy for you! Everyone looks so good! There is a similarity between Claire's hairdo and Adam's; but she did not get that nice thick hair from grandpa Belnap's side of the family! We love all of you to pieces!

Adam and Claudia and Claire!!!

I have been waiting for these pictures since I called Grandma Go go early Saturday morning to see if there was any news. She is so darling! And I was brought to tears hear Adam talk to her in the video. Oh Adam, you are a daddy! Wow. Sending Claudia good job wishes and get better quick thoughts!

She is so sweet! It is amazing how much hair she has (he didn't show up quite like this in the text messages). In the last picture before the video she looks like a Belnap to me - or at least other children in the Belnap clan. She does have a cute cry and did it on command - which means she will be pulling that trick for the next 20-something years of your life, so start thinking of comebacks dadyo! I guess snow means go with you and Claudia...congratulations again, brother.

And for one of the chunky persuasion, she sure looks tiny in your arms!

Hey Adam, I hope it's ok if I send the link to your blog to Abby Behunin. That way she can send out the Relief Society baby email with the picture in it without ever actually seeing you guys.
Please let me know what I can do. I a good to do dishes or cleaning or cooking. Or I will just leave you alone if that is what you want. (that's kind of what we wanted) I can help in a couple of weeks, too, after you have to go back to work.
Can I just say that she is sooo beautiful! And Claudia looks so wonderful. I am so proud of her! Tell her she did a good job for me.
