Puffy, the Magic Ankles, or, Something Waddling This Way Comes

Hello all. Not too much to report. I'm just big. And starting to waddle due to a baby head pushing on my pelvis, which makes walking kinda uncomfortable. Too much info? Too bad! We are busy these days with a birthing class--which is sometimes interesting, sometimes not. Frankly, the "breathing exercises" make me feel silly when we do them in class, let alone practicing them at home, which our instructor has asked us to do. I'm more interested in practicing the massage techniques. Anyway, we've decided to reward ourselves with Dairy Queen after classes after sitting through 2 hours of blood, guts and epidural needle talk. One of the newest developments is that we're moving in about 3 weeks to a 2 bedroom apartment. The timing is less than ideal, of course, but we can't help that 1) we weren't pregnant when we renewed our lease back in February, so we didn't plan on timing, and 2) we found a better deal by moving somewhere else. Everyone I tell looks at my belly and then looks at my face with concern, telling me that I "better take it easy." As if I needed that advice. Hello--have you seen my unstable walking lately? I'll handle the packing, and Adam knows he is in charge of moving everything. I'm sure he'll get some guys from church together to help him move the furniture and what-not. That's about it. We're both getting more and more excited for little Claire to arrive, and looking forward to getting into a new place, sans-stairs (can you imagine running upstairs for 3 a.m. feedings?). As for now, I'm gonna waddle my way to the couch to deflate my ankles.

Running up the stairs for feedings isn't as bad as it sounds. I did it for both of my boys. It actually helps you resist jumping to their side for every noise they make.

All I have to say about the birth class I attended is that when they pulled the plastic baby out of a knitted uterus (that's right, I said knitted, it looked like Piglet's sweater) I turned to Steve and said, "I'll not be delivering this baby."

That title is hilarious. I don't think you look very puffy,, but I didn't even notice how very puffy I was until after she was born and it went away.

Julia's comment was hilarious, and your title even more so...I'm taking "what to expect when you're expecting" notes...

Harper Turns 3!

We sure love this little girl, and we were excited to wish her a happy birthday.  But, of course, this little sassafrass decided to have so...
